Dear Counselors / Marriage & Family Therapists:
Good day all and it is approaching time to renew your license for the next two year period (2018-2020).
This letter is just a bit of a heads up about your renewal cycle that can reduce the ‘insanity’ of the June deadline. Each renewal year, we encourage everyone to send materials in early, prior to the deadline of June 30. You will receive your notice for renewal by email in mid-January with all the forms attached.
The Board staff prefers that all materials be returned no later than May 30, 2018.
You have 3 – 4 months to complete your continuing education requirements, we’re just encouraging you to begin a month earlier.
This process will give our staff time to assure that when the date your license is due to expire, most of you will have your submissions reviewed and posted, avoiding the ‘last minute’ barrage of calls, emails, pleas about unable to practice, bill, or retain employment.
PLEASE read and follow the instructions. Doing so will expedite the process of your submission. You will need to submit the following:
- The official renewal notice that MUST be signed, dated & returned
- A NEW continuing education summary sheet (do not copy & submit your old one)
- A Personal Update Form if anything has changed
- A Corporation renewal form if applicable (additional fee of $25);
- An updated C.2.h. plan if necessary – read C.2.h. explanation
- A NEW, revised statement of intent, and last
- The renewal fee
NOTE: THERE ARE NO ONLINE PAYMENT OPTIONS AT THIS TIME
Know that the State Board of Examiners and the Board Office are here to serve you. We look forward to your attention and adherence to the renewal process and procedures to ensure a seamless renewal of your license to practice.
If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to call us or use the CONTACT form on this website.
